기본적으로 Communication과 Commerce 서버의 인스톨 과정은 동일하며, 다만 보안에 관한 부분에 있어
설치 방법의 차이가 있으므로 여기서는 두 서버의 기본 설치법을 기준으로 알아보기로 한다.
3.1.1 서버 프로그램
Netsite Server는 네트스케이프 브라우저로 유명한 네트스케이프 사의 httpd로서 정식적인 명칭은 Netscape Communication
Server와 Netscape Commerce Server이다.
일반 상용 서버들과는 달리 교육기관에 한하여 무료로 사용토록 하고 있으며 시험용은 60일간의 시험 사용이 허락된다. 다만 교
육기관이라도 Commerce Server의 보안키에 한해서는 요금을 지불하여야 한다.
3.1.2 서버 프로그램 압축 풀기
Netsite는 네트스케이프 홈페이지의 Netscape Server
Test Drive 페이지에서 자신의 신상 명세와 시스템 사양에 대하여 알려주면 프로그램을 다운 받을 수 있는 ID와 passwor
d를 부여하여 준다.
이것을 이용하여 자신이 설치할 서버를 선택하여 다운 받아 설치할 수 있다.
대부분의 파일은 tar.gz으로 압축되어 있으므로 자신의 시스템 환경에 맞는 파일을 다운 받아 파일을 풀어 주면 된다.

3.1.3 설치 방법
Netscape Commercial Server의 설치는 httpd 밑에 있는 install 디렉토리에서 ns-setup이라는 실행 파일을 실행시킨다. 이
렇게 하면 다음과 같은 실제 텍스트 화면이 나타난다.(설치 시스템의 이름에 주의를 요한다.)

여기서 현재 설치 작업이 이루어지고 있는 시스템의 디렉토리인 /etc/hostname에는 injo라는 시스템 이름과 /etc/defaultd
omain 에는 pufs.ac.kr가 있으므로 자동적으로 [injo.pufs.ac.kr]을 인식한다. 계속 진행을 하게 되면 다음의 텍스트가 표시된다

여기서 enter를 치게 되면 다음과 같은 메시지가 출력되고 난 이후에 네트스케이프 브라우저가 실행이 된다. 즉, 당신은 G

초기 화면은 두 가지의 선택을 할 수 있는데 여기서 새롭게 네트스케이프 서버를 설치할 것인지 아니면 Upgrade를 선택하여 설
치 할 것인가를 지정할 수 있도록 되어 있다.
이제 당신은 start the installation 을 클릭 함으로써 본격적인 작업에 들어갈 수 있다.
이렇게 하면 세 가지의 아이콘버튼을 선택하여 configuration을 선택할 수 있는데 먼저 서버 환경 설정 화면에서는 다음과 같이
구성된 화면이 나타난다.

서버 환경 설정에는 사용자가 접속 시에 사용할 수 있는 URL을 나타낼 수 있는 서버 네임과 multipul IP addressing이 가
능할 때 사용 가능한 주소와 서버 Port는 httpd가 어떤 TCP port number를 사용할 것인지 정해 주는 부분이다. 흔히 URL을 적을
때 host 부분 뒤쪽에 콜론 다음에 적는 숫자 (예: http://www.pufs.ac.kr:8080/에서 8080) 가 해당 httpd의 port number를 의미
한다.
공식 WWW service를 한다고 하면 HTTP의 공식 port number인 80번을 사용한다. 그렇지 않은 경우 1024이후의 어떤 번호를 사용
해도 상관없다. 단, 80번을 사용할 경우 httpd는 root권한으로 실행되어야만 한다.
Server Location은 httpd가 설치될 디렉토리로 /usr/ns-home 가 지정되어 진다. 프로세서의 수는 최소 16개에서 32개의 multi-s
erver 프로세서가 생성됨으로 많은 접속에 대응할 수 있는 구조를 지니고 있다.
Server의 error는 syslog와 server root의 두 가지 형태 중에서 하나를 선택할 수 있고, log의 액세스에 관한 선택과 IP 주소의
접속에 관한 선택을 할 수 있다. 다음은 문서 환경 설정 형태이다.

Document Configuration Form에서 Document Root가 /WWW/Home으로 설정된 것은 home page가 위치한 root를 의미하고, 접근
할 수 있는 파일 형태는 index.html, home.html 등으로 설정할 수 있고 기본적으로 Home page가 설정되지 않으면 index.html이
있는 것을 찾는다.
서버의 관리를 위한 환경 설정은 관리자가 웹서버를 제어하기 위한 것으로 제어의 범위를 설정할 수 있도록 되어 있다.

사용자의 권한을 어떻게 할 것인 지와 서버 관리를 위해 접속 가능한 곳으로 *.domainname도 가능하며 주소의 범위는 임의
설정 ( 예로서 134.75.50.*도 가능)이 가능하고, 서버 관리를 위해 접속할 때 사용할 port가 즉, http://injo.pufs.ac.kr:83/
이고 서버 관리시 접근할 수 있는 사용자는 root로서 권한을 부여한다.
이렇게 하여 모든 설치가 끝나면 다음과 같이 review가 보여진다.

이것으로 server configure의 설치 작업은 끝이 나고, server 관리로 접근하기 위해서는 브라우저를 사용하여 관리할 수
있다.
3.1.4 관리 방법
서버의 관리는 관리 권한을 부여받은 사람이 관리 권역 안에서 서버의 제어를 다양하게 할 수 있도록 한다.
브라우저를 사용하여 http://injo.pufs.ac.kr:83/ 으로 하면, 먼저 login과
password를 물어 본다. 여기서 해당되는 이름과 암호를 작성한다. 그렇게 하면 다음의 서버 관리 화면이 나타난다.

Process 제어 부분에서는 먼저, 현재 서버의 데몬이 실행되지 않았을 때 사용돼는 Start up the server와 서버가 현재 실
행 중이지만 만약 Config 파일을 수정하였을 경우에 다시 서버를 재 구동시키는 Send the server the restart signal 부분과 서
버의 데몬을 없애는 것이 있다. 다음은 URL내의 string에 error가 발생한 경우에 Error log에 기록된다(예: 존재하지 않는 그림
화일호출).
