IPP(Internet Printing Protocol)은 TCP/IP로 묶인 네트워크에서 프린터
활용을 위한 만병통치약으로 쓰일 수 있을듯 합니다.
PostScript로 만들어진 화일은 프린터 기종에 상관없이 PS가 지원되는
프린터에다 다운로드하면 기냥 프린트가 됩니다.

현재의 네트워크 프린터를 사용하실려면.. 제작사마다 제공하는 별도의
드라이버 프로그램을 깔아야 하지요? IPP가 완성되면 프린터 기종에
상관없이.. 드라이버 프로그램 없이도.. 웹 브라우저나..
텍스트 에디터나.. 응용 프로그램에서 IPP 지원하도록 개발을 한다면..
네트워크에 물려있는 프린터를 찾아내고.. admin tool 역할도 제공하고..
프린트도 할 수 있게끔 해주는 것..

이게 이번 IETF 가서 IPP BOF이던가.. Working Group이던가..
거기서 이해한 내용입니다. 영어 해독력이 딸려서 잘못 이해했다면
틀릴 수도 있겠죠? 키득키득..

어쨌거나.. IPP를 이용해서 손쉽게 통신망에 연결되어 있는 프린터를
찾아내고 활용할 수 있게끔 하는 프로토콜을 개발하자는 것이니..
다음에 응용 프로그램 개발자들은 이거 반드시 구현해야 할듯 합니다..
그러니.. 이렇게 돌아가는구나.. 알고 계시는 것도 나쁘지 않을듯..
