** SITE BUILDER NETWORK -- NEW LOOK, NEW WEBZINE **
If you haven't stopped by the Site Builder Network
Web site in the past few days, head over to
http://www.microsoft.com/sitebuilder. Microsoft's most
complete set of information, tools, and technologies for
building Web sites has a new look and a new webzine.
The site also takes advantage of state of the art ActiveX
and scripting technologies. We've incorporated the
Site Builder Workshop (which many of you have praised)
and made it easier to navigate, too.

The new Site Builder Network Magazine is filled with
articles and columns on all aspects of Internet and
intranet programming, design, authoring, production and
administration. Member services are better, too, with an
easier, faster registration process and continued special
services and goodies in the Members Lounge areas. We hope
you like it. Go check it out and tell us what you think.

** DOWNLOAD AND TEST DRIVE NEW VISUAL J++ 1.1 **
Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1, Professional Edition is a brand
new update to Microsoft's Java Development tool. If you're
a serious developer, doing industrial-strength Java
programming and you need to create 100% cross-platform
Java applications and applets, try it out for free
(connect charges may apply). A trial version of
Visual J++ 1.1 is posted on the Web and ready for download
from the Site Builder member download area at
http://www.microsoft.com/sbnmember/download/download.asp,
or the Visual J++ Web site at
http://www.microsoft.com/visualj.

** INTERSE TEAM JOINS MICROSOFT **
Microsoft has acquired Interse Corporation, developer of
the award-winning Interse market focus Web site analysis
software. Interse's market focus 3 software helps Web
professionals integrate, manage and examine Internet user
behavior data. Microsoft plans to integrate the technology
into its BackOffice family of products, and the Interse
team will join Microsoft's Internet services business unit.
For more info, read the press release on the Microsoft Web
site at
www.microsoft.com/corpinfo/press/1997/mar97/interspr.htm.

** VISUAL STUDIO 97 - NEED THE HEAVY-DUTY VERSION? **
Microsoft will unveil Visual Studio 97, Enterprise Edition
on March 19. In addition to the cool features in new
Visual Studio 97 Professional, this version adds the
Enterprise editions of Visual Basic 5.0 and Visual C++ 5.0.
Plus: Microsoft Transaction Server 1.0, SQL Server 6.5,
Visual SourceSafe 5.0, visual database tools, and the new
Microsoft Repository 1.0. Find out more at
http://www.microsoft.com/vstudio, and for more info on the
repository, see http://www.microsoft.com/repository.

** STAMP OUT MALICIOUS CODE DISTRIBUTION **
Microsoft's new project called the Web Executable Security
Advisor Program is designed to help battle the threat
of potentially harmful anonymously distributed executable
code. As part of the free program, Microsoft will deliver
educational material on its security Web site and through
mailing lists. A Web Executable Security roundtable is
planned for mid-spring. You can visit the Microsoft
security Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/security.
