Attention Enterprise Developers,

Lately the word "extreme" is being associated with sports like mountain
climbing, snow skiing or bungee jumping, but now "extreme" is taking on a
whole new meaning. The Object Management Group is proud to announce a new
learning experience for developers with a vision of leading their
organizations into the next century by programming with CORBA/IIOP. CORBA
Academy is the name for this educational event. CORBA Academy is "extreme"
programming for hard-core developers.

CORBA Academy is your chance to be part of a three day educational
experience which will take place on January 21-23, 1997 in San Francisco,
CA. CORBA gurus and mentors from some of the industry's top companies on
CORBA/IIOP development will provide Academy participants with the cutting
edge know-how to be successful leaders and developers in distributed
computing technologies.

Not only are there going to be group tutorials, but each student will
participate in hands on lecture labs. Additionally, focus sessions will be
offered on advanced subjects such as building transactional systems;
developing secure environments; integrating DCE with CORBA; integrating
CORBA and Object Database Technology; and Legacy Wrapping with design
patterns. The Academy will also cover and explore hot industry topics such
as ActiveX/CORBA interworking, Java ORBs, and integrating IIOP and the Web.

The Academy is an industry event. Along with three days of intensive
distributed computing training, attendees will also enjoy exciting
celebrities, fun-filled events and guest speakers. Highlighting the Academy
is a visit from Scott Adams, acclaimed cartoonist and creator of the Dilbert
comic strip. On January 21, Adams will enlighten and entertain Academy
participants by speaking on topics related to his latest best-seller, The
Dilbert Principal. A special "Secret" Event will take place on January 22.
Although we can't disclose what it is, I guarantee it will be 100% fun and
very extreme! However an event we can tell you about is that Marc
Andreesen, co-founder of Netscape Corp. will be a special guest speaker at
CORBA Academy. Andreesen will address Academy participants as the keynote
speaker at the CORBA Academy graduation ceremony on January 23.
